Christmas: Oyo Govt Subsidizes Food Items For Workers

As part of efforts to cushion the effects of economic challenges on Oyo state workers, the Oyo State Government, through the Agricultural Credit Corporation of Oyo State (ACCOS), has started the distribution of food commodities worth at about ₦100 million to civil and public servants across the state at affordable rates.
The chairman of the Agricultural Credit Corporation of Oyo State (ACCOS), Sheik Taofik Akeugbagold while flagging off the program, said it is strictly for workers who have indicated interest, maintaining that beneficiaries must be properly collated by their respective accounts sections to ensure a smooth and transparent process for distribution.
Represented by coordinating director of ACCOS, Mr. Oladejo, Sheikh Taofeek explained that the commodities available for the programme included bags of rice, vegetable oil, chicken, and other essential food items, with allocations strictly based on individual demand as indicated by the workers.
He stressed that payment for the commodities would be made through salary deductions beginning in February 2026,
The chairman assured all beneficiaries of equal and even distribution process, urging beneficiaries to comply with all stipulated guidelines.
The beneficiaries which were drawn from all the ministries appreciated the state government for the timely initiative, nothing that it will make the festive season worth celebration.
