3 Feared Dead As APC Ward Congress Turns Bloody In Ondo

Three persons have been reported dead in crisis erupting from the APC ward congress in Idanre , Owena council area of Ondo State.
It was gathered that the centre of violence was around Commercial road, Kehinde Onibata area of the town where a vehicle said to belong to one of the dead was also set on fire.
Schools and other commercial activities quickly shut down as the crisis escalated especially in the Irowo Quarters of Idanre.
The Ondo State Commissioner of Police , Mr Adebowale Lawal however led police to the scene also with Civil Defence Corps.
The police were seen assisting the injured and taking them to the hospital as normalcy gradually returned.
CP Lawal, said he, alongside the State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), CC Oluyemi Ibiloye, personally led a combined team of security operatives to the scene and their timely intervention ensured the restoration of peace and order in the affected area.
Lawal added that investigation was ongoing to unravel the circumstances surrounding the attack and to apprehend those responsible for this heinous act.
To forestall any further breakdown of law and order, the CP ordered the immediate deployment of additional tactical teams to secure the area and its environs in order to protect lives and property.
He urged the people of Ondo State to remain calm and continue their lawful activities without fear or panic, as adequate security measures have been put in place to ensure sustained peace and stability across the state.
