Governor Adeleke Approves Reduction Of Work Hours For State Workers

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun state has reduced public servants work hours for the Ramadan and Lenten period.
In a circular issued by the Office of Head of Service, Elder Ayanleye Aina on Thursday, Governor Ademola Adeleke clarified that the motive behind the adjustment is to support workers during the fasting season.
The new work schedule takes effect from Thursday 19th February, 2016 indicates that Public Servants should close work by 2 O’clock in the afternoon from Mondays to Thursdays, and 1 O’clock on Fridays, during the ongoing Ramadan and Lenten seasons only.
He stated further that , those on essential services, especially medical personnel, are however, excluded from the arrangement considering the nature of their duties to saving lives.
The statement adds that the gesture is meant to enable both Christian and Muslim pray for the state as it approaches next political dispensation
