Tunji Disu Replaces Egbetokun As Inspector-General of Police

President Bola Tinubu has expressed appreciation to Mr Kayode Egbetokun, for his distinguished service to the Nigeria Police Force and the nation,as the Inspector-General of Police.
The president stated this while acknowledging Egbetokun’s resignation as the Inspector-General of Police.
President Bola Tinubu received Mr Egbetokun’s resignation today and approved the appointment of Assistant Inspector-General of Police Tunji Disu to serve as Acting Inspector-General of Police with immediate effect.
He applauded Egbetokun’s dedication, professionalism, and steadfast commitment to strengthening internal security architecture during his tenure.
Egbetokun was Appointed in June 2023,and was billed to serve a four-year term till 2027.
The President also reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to enhancing national security, strengthening institutional capacity, and ensuring that the Nigeria Police Force remains professional, accountable, and fully equipped to discharge its constitutional responsibilities.
