Five LAUTECH Students, Expectant Mother Die In Road Traffic Accident

Management of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, has regretted the death of six students of the institution in a road traffic accident along Ilorin–Ogbomoso Road.
The Registrar, Mrs. Olayinka Balogun confirmed this in a statement .
According to the statement,the victims are;Shehu Nana Firdawsi Hamza, Idris Jamila, Abdulraheem Maimunah Hamza, Blessing Kevwe, Owoicho Elizabeth, and Aroke Ozavize Victoria.
The students, amongst whom one was heavily pregnant were said to have boarded the same commercial bus from Suleja, Niger State, enroute their campus in Ogbomoso for their final examinations before the accident at Otte in Kwara State.
“With a heavy heart, the management of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, announces the tragic loss of six of our cherished Open and Distance Learning Nursing students who were involved in a ghastly motor accident on the Ilorin–Ogbomoso Road on Sunday, February 22, 2026,” The statement reads.
The statement adds that management of LAUTECH extends its condolences to the families of the deceased and urged members of the public to pray for the repose of their souls.
