The Minority Leader of the Oyo State House of Assembly and member representing Irepo/Olorunsogo State Constituency, Hon. Waliu Ayinde, has strongly condemned the abduction of four persons along the Igbeti–Kishi Road in the Oke-Ogun axis of the state.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Hon. Ayinde described the incident as unfortunate and disturbing, noting that the security and safety of residents must remain a top priority for all stakeholders.
The lawmaker, whose constituency covers the affected area, expressed deep concern over the incident and sympathised with the families of the victims, assuring them that efforts are ongoing to secure the safe return of their loved ones.
Hon. Ayinde commended the swift response of the Oyo State Police Command following the report of the incident and urged security agencies to sustain the ongoing search and rescue operations until the victims are safely reunited with their families.
He specifically called on the police and other security operatives deployed to the area to intensify efforts in combing the surrounding forests and communities in order to track down the perpetrators and dismantle any criminal network responsible for the attack.
The Minority Leader also urged residents of the Irepo and Olorunsogo local government areas to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies by providing useful information that could assist ongoing operations.
According to him, community collaboration with security operatives is critical in addressing criminal activities and ensuring lasting peace and security across the Oke-Ogun region.
Hon. Ayinde further stressed the need for sustained security surveillance along the Igbeti–Kishi corridor and other vulnerable routes in the area to prevent a recurrence of such incidents.
