Residents Demand Justice as Suspected Serial Killer Leads Police to Exhume Remains of Victims

A 29 year old man, suspected of being responsible for cases of missing persons within and outside Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, is now in the Police net.
The suspected kidnapper and serial killer, Phillips Ogunnaike has also led the police to 3 locations where the remains of his victims were exhumed from the bushes in different parts of Ogun Central Senatorial District.
Philips, who claimed to be a member of Aye Confraternity was accused of repeatedly using the criminal tactics of luring his victims to isolated bushes and collecting their phones to demand ransom before eventually killing and burying them.
The State Commissioner of Police, Mr Abiodun Alamutu, who led the team of police detectives to exhume the bodies at Itori, in Ewekoro local government area, as well as Asero and Mile 6 communities in Abeokuta South local government maintained that the suspect had been responsible for cases of missing persons within and outside the state capital.
Mr Alamutu who vowed that the suspect would be charged to court to face the consequences of the heinous activities also reiterated that the command was poised to combat kidnapping and other criminal activities across the state, while urging the people to always be security conscious.
Residents in the different communities, while expressing shock and sadness over the discovery of graves, containing the bodies of persons hitherto declared missing, demanded for justice and further investigations to apprehend all those involved in the crime.
