Hon. Akin Alabi, the representative of Egbeda/Ona Ara Federal Constituency, has officially flagged off the reconstruction of the long-awaited Paara Bridge in Ona Ara Local Government Area of Oyo State. The project, which is expected to be completed within a few months, will significantly improve transportation and boost economic activities by enhancing access to surrounding areas.
In a statement released by his media aide, Hameed Mustapha Ramadan, it was also announced that Hon. Akin Alabi distributed six transformers to various communities across Egbeda and Ona Ara Local Government Areas. These transformers, along with all necessary installation accessories, were procured as part of his commitment to improving the power supply in the constituency. The installations will commence immediately following the successful procurement of approvals from the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC).
Speaking on the power project, Hon. Adebowale Amoo, Director General of the Akin Alabi Campaign Organization, assured the communities that the transformers would bring swift benefits.
“All the transformer accessories were procured along with the transformers, and we have finally secured IBEDC approval for the lighting. In coming weeks, there will be illumination in the communities,” he stated.
This development is expected to alleviate power challenges that have long affected these areas, improving both residential living conditions and local business operations.
During the flag-off ceremony, Hon. Akin Alabi emphasized the importance of electing experienced lawmakers who can effectively represent their constituencies in the National Assembly.
“There is more benefit to having ranking members in the National Assembly than a newcomer. Experienced legislators understand the system better, have built valuable relationships, and can attract more projects and development to their constituencies. Continuity is key to ensuring sustained progress,” he noted.
Hon. Alabi also stressed the need for continuous leadership dedicated to the growth of their constituencies, adding, “Development is a continuous process, and with the right leadership in place, we can ensure that our communities keep moving forward.”
Local leaders and residents expressed their appreciation for Hon. Akin Alabi’s efforts in addressing both infrastructural and power supply issues. The transformers and the forthcoming illumination are expected to significantly enhance the daily lives of residents, providing a much-needed boost to local economies.
The occasion also saw residents dancing and rejoicing as their long-awaited dream finally came to fruition. The atmosphere was filled with celebration and gratitude, as the communities welcomed these much-needed developments that promised to improve their quality of life and enhance growth opportunities. The excitement was palpable, as both young and old expressed their appreciation for the transformative impact these projects would bring to their everyday lives.
