Gov Oyebanji Presents 400 Billion Naira Budget Proposal For 2025 Fiscal Year

Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has presented a budget proposal of about 400 billion Naira for the 2025 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly.
The proposal represents an increase of over 200 billion Naira compared to the 2024 budget, which was set at 159.57 billion Naira.
Governor Oyebanji, while addressing a gathering at the house in Ado Ekiti, revealed that the 2025 budget, titled the “Budget of Sustainable Impact,” allocates 192.33 billion Naira to Recurrent Expenditure, representing 51% of the total budget, while Capital Expenditure is set at 183.46 billion Naira, making up 49%.
The governor noted that the budget prioritizes food security, wealth creation, and the overall welfare of the people, emphasizing that the proposal was developed through an inclusive process, as it incorporated the needs identified by citizens during town hall meetings across the state.
The speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Mr Adeoye Aribasoye, urged Assembly members to carefully review the budget through their committees and ensure that it aligns with the aspirations and yearnings of Ekiti residents.
Mr Aribasoye also assured both the governor and the public that the Assembly would give the 2025 Budget proposal expedited consideration.
