Osun Monarch Remanded For Alleged Arson

Oba Muideen Azeez, the Elegbedi of Egbedi in Osun State and four others have been remanded at the Ife Correctional Centre for alleged arson, destruction of farm and crops worth N200m.
The five people were remanded after failing to meet up with the deadline for the perfection of their bail conditions giving to them by the State High Court sitting in Ede.
In her ruling, Justice Kudirat Akano granted the five persons bail in the sum of N5m with two sureties each.
While the first category of the sureties must be level 16 civil servant with landed property within the court jurisdiction, the other sureties are part 2 monarchs.
The other defendants are Akibu Abioye, Yisa Akolapo, Rasidi Ayandiran and Sarafadeen Abioye.
Recalled that the defendant were arraigned on 27th June, 2024, on 29 counts of arson, destruction of farmland, illegal possession of firearms and robbery.
