Olojo Festival, Key to Preservation of Yoruba Cultural Values – Adeleke

The annual Olojo festival in Osun state is very key to the preservation of the Yoruba cultural values.
This was the submission of the State Governor, Ademola Adeleke during this year’s celebration in Ile Ife.
Governor Adeleke described the yearly Olojo festival as an ancient and more significant event which could not be underrated among other festivals across the world.
The Governor who expressed his delight towards the popular Olojo festival said, Yoruba land is endowed with rich cultural values which should not be allowed to go into extinction,hence the need to transfer to upcoming Generation.
He urged sons and daughters of Ile- Ife to utilize the cultural heritage in the ancient town to boost the economy of the State and prayed for the Ooni of Ile -ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi to live long on his father’s throne, that God should grant participants and indigenes long life to witness more festival.
Earlier in separate remarks, the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Mr. Bankole Ojo and Chairman, Osun State Tourism Board, Mr. Taiwo Adeleke urged the participants and people of Ile-Ife in particular to always embrace their culture as Yorubaland is richly blessed.
They assured Residents of the State that, the present administration led by Senator Ademola Adeleke, is a lover of Culture and tourism ,hence , efforts were on to boost the sector, with a view to improve the economy of the State.
The colorful cultural which featured different cultural presentations, was attended by traditional rulers , Otunba Ifagbeunsola Atanda , Iyalaje Oodua, Dr (Mrs) Toyin Kolade amongst other distinguished personalities.
