Ondo Guber Polls:Yiaga Africa Opens Data Centre For Off-Cycle Election

Ahead of the November 16th governorship election in Ondo state, Yiaga Africa, which focuses on election monitoring towards ensuring free, fair and credible election in Nigeria says it is opening a Data Centre for the off-cycle election.
The Programme Manager, Yiaga Africa, Mr Paul James stated this at a workshop organized by the group for media practitioners and civil society organizations.
Yiaga also disclosed that it was deploying 324 observers to selected polling units across the 18 local government areas of the state.
The observers are to send reports from the polling units to the Data Centre which will work on it.
In an address, a Board member of Yiaga Africa ,Dr.Mrs Asmau Meikudi disclosed that the group researched the Process and Results Verification for Transparency, PRVT to deter, detect and expose electoral fraud.
She added that the group, among other activities, had been providing information on the election process to increase the confidence of the electorate.
