Patients Lament As UCH Workers Down tools

Patients at the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan have appealed to the government and striking members of Joint Health Workers Unions,JOHESU to negotiate to end their ongoing strike.
The patients made the call while speaking with newsmen at the hospital.
Mr. Matthew Ademola and madam Aina Balogun said they were not able to get the attention of laboratory staff as they were not on ground to attend to any patient due to the strike, calling on the government to do the needful.
Speaking on the development, the chairman of Joint Health Sectors Unions, UCH Mr. Oladayo Olabampe said the strike was only observed in Federal health Institutions .
He pointed out that the demands of the union included the immediate review of CONHRESS salary as it was done to CONMESS in 2014, Tax waiver,on allowance, upward review of retirement age of Health workers to 65 years and 70 years among others.
Mr. Olabampe who doubles as the chairman of Nigeria Union of Allied Health Professionals, Oyo state said their demands were overdue, threatening that if their demands were not met , the union would go on indefinite strike.
It would be recalled that the seven day warning strike commenced on Saturday last week.
