Owa Obokun Receives Staff Of Office….Promises To Consolidate Unity Of Ijesaland

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has Presented certificate and staff of office to the new Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Adesuyi Clement Haastrup.
The presentation took place at the Palace of Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Ereja Square, Ilesa.
Presenting the staff of office and royal Certificate to the new Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesa, Oba Adesuyi Clement Haastrup, Governor Adeleke who described the installation of the new king as a new dawn said the time for the contest has gone behind, urging people to rally-round the new king to build a stronger and prosperous future for the land.
Governor Adeleke tasked the new king to see himself as the father of all, calling on the sons and daughters of Ijesaland to continue the good work of developing the land even now that the new king was ready to take a lead role in their cause.
In his acceptance speech as the Paramount ruler of Ijesaland, the Owa Obokun, Ajimoko the third, Oba Adesuyi Clement Haastrup said his immediate priority was to consolidate on the unity and progress of Ijesa, saying his energy would be channelled towards the establishment of Ijesa Technical Institute as it is done in China, Ghana and other places around the world.
While appreciating God for using people to bring him to the throne, Oba Haastrup vowed to rule with wisdom, justice and compassion to justify the trust reposed in him.
Dignitaries at the ceremony were political and traditional creams of the society including, Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Adewale Akanbi, Orangun of Oke Ila Orangun, Oba Adedokun Abolarin and other chiefs.
Highlight of the event was the traditional dance from the hunters, unveiling the dove as a symbol of peace and new dawn in the land of Ijesa.
Recall that the selection of the new king was done two days ago with the governor giving his approval same day.
