Tragedy: HOD Of Federal Medical Centre Commits Suicide

The Acting Head of the Audit Department, Federal Medical Centre, Idi Aba, Abeokuta, Mr Oluwaseun Adeniyi has reportedly committed suicide by jumping into a well in Obantoko area of Abeokuta, Ogun state.
Head of Public Relations and Communication,FMC Abeokuta, Mr Segun Orisajo, who confirmed the incident in Abeokuta expressed the Management’s condolences to the family of the deceased and FMC Abeokuta Community, describing the deceased as a dedicated and hardworking member of staff.
Mr Orisajo explained that the incident occurred shortly after the late Adeniyi had dinner with family, stressed that the motive behind this tragic act remained unclear, adding that the deceased allegedly had previous record of mental health challenges.
The head of Public Relations and communication,FMC said the management of the centre used the opportunity to call for the need to increased awareness and resources for mental health support.
