Oyo Police Command Meets With Traders To Curb Market Fires

Oyo State Police Command has held a meeting with traders at Aleshinloye Market in a bid to find lasting solution to incessant fire outbreaks.

This is contained in a statement signed by the command’s public relations officer, Adewale osifeso and made available to newsmen .

The statement notes that the meeting, which was held at the command headquarters, eleyele ibadan, was well-attended by traders and senior police officers with the aim to identify the root causes of the fires and develop strategies to prevent future occurrences.

It also states that ,the meeting identified improper storage of combustible materials and irregular inspections of electrical items as factors contributing to incessant fire incidences.

The statement adds that the commissioner of police Johnson Adenola advocates more investment in fire safety equipment and incessant training programs for traders to put an end to fire incidences.
