APC Clears Gov.Oyebanji, Disqualifies Other For Ekiti Governorship Primary

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Screening Committee has cleared Governor Biodun Oyebanji to contest the party’s governorship primary election in Ekiti State.
It also clears Mrs. Atinuke Omolayo to contest as well.
The committee said Oyebanji and Omolayo satisfied constitutional and party requirements.
Meanwhile, Mrs.Abimbola Olawumi was disqualified for not providing sufficient evidence of being a financial member APC.
The committee further cited Section 177(c) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), which mandates political party membership as a prerequisite for eligibility to contest for governorship position.
In another development ,Engineer Kayode Ojo was granted provisional clearance.
The decision followed petitions alleging his failure to meet the mandatory requirement of securing five valid nominators per local government.
