Written by on December 23, 2025

The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria ,ALGON under the platform of the All Progressives Congress in Osun has bragged of being in full control of the councils in the state.

The Chairman, APC ALGON, Mr.Abiodun Idowu stated this at a news Conference held at the Osun NUJ, Correspondents’ Chapel, Osogbo.

Mr. Idowu hinted that there was no legal impediment against their reinstatement and functionality as heads of the Local government areas in the state.

He appealed to the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, to resume duties.

The APC ALGON Chairman also boasted that he is the authentic ALGON Chairman with the required official letter from the National ALGON office Abuja.

“i have an official letter from the National ALGON office recognising me as the only ALGON Chairman in Osun State , Any other chairman is a counterfeit. The APC ALGON has approached the Federal High Court in Osogbo seeking the court’s determination of when the tenure of the council chairmen elected during the administration of Gboyega Oyetola would elapse, saying that while awaiting judicial pronouncement on the issue, he believes that their tenure started counting since February 10, 2025.” Mr idowu stated.

Mr. Idowu, the reinstated Chairman of Ifedayo Local Government Area, argued that the recent judgement of the Supreme Court over the logjam in the council, favoured his faction, noting that it has been withdrawing salaries from the council accounts and that now, it is now in charge of the full allocations.
