2027: Osun West Senatorial District Hopeful, Dr Ogundeji ‘APATA’ Receives Ancestral Blessings, Seeks Youths’ Support

Written by on February 9, 2026

Ola, Ejigbo LGA, Osun State — Philanthropist and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Peter Taiwo Ogundeji (APATA), on Saturday visited his ancestral compound in Ola, Ejigbo Local Government Area, to receive the blessing of the Alase of Ola Land, Dr Olufemi Fasanya, as he prepares to contest the Osun West Senatorial District seat in the 2027 general election.

The visit coincided with a meeting of the Alase dynasty, during which extended family members pledged their support and prayers for Chief Ogundeji’s political aspiration. Speaking at the gathering, the Alase noted that the most crucial stage of the aspiration is securing the senatorial ticket, praying that God would make the process easy and favourable for him. He also appealed to leaders of the APC at all levels to consider Chief Ogundeji for the ticket, describing him as a candidate who would become the voice and face of the youth if elected to the Senate.

Chief Ogundeji, who is also the Oluomo of Gbotaru, Ido-Osun, received blessings from Pa Adekunle Fadele (Onsa), the oldest man in the dynasty, as well as Pa David Omidele, Chairman of the Omolebi Alase. The elders reminded him that “He who walks with the wise grows wise, and the path of the elder strengthens the feet of the young.”

In his remarks, Chief Ogundeji expressed deep appreciation for the prayers and counsel of the elders, saying, “Leadership is not only about ambition; it is about service to the people and the preservation of values handed down by our ancestors. The prayers and guidance of our elders are the compass that will guide our path.”

He thanked members of the extended family and community present, noting that their support remains a source of strength as he seeks to represent Osun West Senatorial District. Chief Ogundeji emphasised that his political journey is anchored on accountability, sincerity, and dedication to grassroots development, adding that “the tree that will bear fruit must first be nurtured at its roots.”

The meeting underscored the importance of unity, tradition, and collective responsibility, with family members pledging continued guidance and prayers as Chief Ogundeji moves toward the critical stage of securing the senatorial ticket.

The visit further reflects Chief Ogundeji’s approach of blending modern political aspiration with traditional legitimacy, demonstrating a leadership style rooted in the wisdom of elders while responding to contemporary governance needs.

In a related development, Chief Ogundeji had earlier, during a walk-to-live rally organised by his political group, APATA for AMBO, at Ward 6 of Ejigbo Local Government Area, visited His Royal Majesty, the Olola of Ola, Oba Johnson Ajiboye, who also offered prayers and blessings for his senatorial aspiration.
