Suspected Hoodlums Storm APC Stakeholders’ Meeting In Akure, Assault Party Chairman

The Stakeholders’ meeting of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Akure, Ondo State was on Tuesday disrupted by some suspected hoodlums.

The meeting, which was holding at the party’s state secretariat in Akure the state capital suddenly turned violent when the attackers stormed the venue.

A4O Radio gathered that the State Chairman, Mr Ade Adetimehin was assaulted.

Others chieftains attacked included Chief Demola Ijabiyi , Mr Sola Ajisafe , Chief of Staff to former Governor Olusegun Mimiko, Dr Kola Ademujimi and others.

The victims told newsmen that the attackers claimed they were acting against perceived enemies of Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa.

Relating the incident , Chief Ijabiyi said party members had converged in preparation for the ward congresses taking place tomorrow when they were attacked.

Another Eyewitness account said that the hoodlums who stormed the secretariat chanting war songs ,shouted that only the governor’s supporters would be allowed and warned others to leave the premises or face consequences.

Chief Ijabiyi condemned the attack as an assault on democratic engagement and internal party cohesion, warning that such actions, if unchecked, could destabilize the state’s political environment.

Also, Party stakeholders and members of the public have called for an urgent investigation into the incident with lawful action taken action against perpetrators to prevent a recurrence, especially as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
