Gov Makinde Cut Annual Leave Short To Attend Olubadan’s Coronation

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, has cut short his vacation in order to be physically present at the Coronation of Oba Adewolu Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The coronation ceremony will hold on Friday with the President, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu expected to be in attendance.
The Governor submitted a letter of early resumption to the Oyo State House of Assembly and it was formally approved by the lawmakers.
During its plenary presided by the deputy speaker, Mr. Muhammed Fadeyi, the Assembly read and acknowledged the Governor’s resumption letter.
Governor Makinde, who had initially informed the House of his annual leave from August 29 to September 29, 2025, stated in his letter that due to the historic and culturally significant coronation of the new Olubadan, he deemed it necessary to cut short his vacation and resume duty.
The Governor also expressed appreciation to the Deputy Governor, Mr. Bayo Lawal, for serving as Acting Governor during his absence and announced that the Deputy Governor would now return to his substantive role.
