Ibadan Agog As President Tinubu Attends Olubadan’s Coronation…. Creation Of Ibadan State Dominates Oba Ladoja’s Acceptance Speech

The Newly Crowned Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja has pleaded with President Bola Tinubu to see to the creation of Ibadan State very soon.
Oba Ladoja made the passionate request while delivering his acceptance speech after his installation as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland at an unprecedented ceremony at the Historic Mapo Grounds.
Oba Ladoja said it was his wish and that of the entire Ibadan people to witness the realization of Ibadan State at the shortest possible time.
The Monarch appreciated President Tinubu for physically attending his Coronation, praising Governor Seyi Makinde and all Ibadan Indigenes for their unrelenting support to the traditional institution.

Oba Ladoja enjoined all sons and daughters of Ibadan as well as those who have benefited in one way or the other from Ibadan to support in bringing more developmental projects to the Ancient city.
Oba Ladoja, who celebrated his 81st birthday on Thursday, a day before his coronation, said all that is left for him to do is to serve Ibadanland and see to it’s advancement.
In his address, President Tinubu assured Nigerians of Economic growth and development in a shortest possible time, saying he understands and feels their pains in the cause of economic reforms.
President Tinubu who recalled his days in politics and struggles for democracy with Oba Rashidi Ladoja said, his administration was doing everything possible to make Nigeria economically viable in the interest of its citizens.
The President congratulated Oba Ladoja, stressing that the celebration was that of the enduring tradition and resilience of the Ibadan monarchical system, describing the Olubadan as bold, blunt and focused man with impeccable character.
Earlier, the Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, who cut short his one month leave, presented a staff and instrument of office to the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja at the historic Mapo Grounds, Ibadan, the State capital.

Governor Makinde maintained that, Ibadan Traditional Institution remained strong and indivisble, praying that God will grant Oba Ladoja long life to reign on the throne
The Governor proclaimed that all the controversies surrounding the Ibadan traditional institution had come to an end with the coronation of Oba Ladoja.
Oba Rashidi Ladoja, was born on 25 September, 1944 in Gambari village near Ogbomoso, Oyo State, to Pa Yunusa Olayiwola and Madam Halimat Sadia Ladoja.

His family has its ancestral homestead in Arusa compound, Isale Osi, Ibadan and he succeeds Ọba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin who joined his ancestors on July 7,2025 at the age of 90.
The event had in attendance the Oloris including Queen Rashidat Ladoja, Queen Abibat Ladoja and Queen Bukola Ladoja while Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade, Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Afolabi Ghandi, Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Akanbi, President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs and Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar and many more traditional rulers were present.
Other Dignitaries were, Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, Ondo State Governor, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, Olubadan in Council, among others.
