26 Year Old Man Rescued From Deep Well

A 26-year-old man was rescued alive from a deep well in Ajia Village, Egbeda local government,Oyo state, by officials of the Oyo State Fire Services Agency after an emergency operation late Tuesday night.
The incident occurred at Seriki Ashipa Majaopo area and was reported around 9:50 p.m. through a distress call made to the agency.
Fire service personnel, led by Chief Fire Superintendent Adesina, immediately moved to the scene to begin rescue efforts.
On arrival, the officers discovered that the victim had fallen into a well said to be about 78 feet deep. The rescue team quickly deployed specialised equipment to bring the man out safely.
After the successful operation, the victim was handed over to policemen from the Akanran Police Divisional Headquarters led by ASP Agboola Babatunde. The fire officers later returned to their station shortly after midnight.
Reacting to the incident, the Special Adviser on Fire Service Reform and Chairman of the Fire Services Agency, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande, urged residents to always contact emergency responders during emergencies. He also advised homeowners to properly cover and lock wells when not in use to prevent similar accidents.
