The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, has congratulated the Okanlomo of Ooduduwa, Engr. (Chief) Dotun Sanusi, on his elevation to the prestigious title of Gbonka Olubadan of Ibadanland.
In a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen on Friday in Ibadan, Senator Alli described the elevation as a well-deserved recognition of Chief Sanusi’s immense contributions to the development of Ibadanland and the nation.
The Senator, who is also the Ekarun Balogun of Ibadanland, said Sanusi’s steady progression in the revered Olubadan traditional chieftaincy hierarchy reflected his integrity, philanthropy, entrepreneurial accomplishments and commitment to the advancement of society.
The APC candidate said the elevation also reflected the confidence reposed in Sanusi by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, and the Ibadan traditional institution.
Senator Alli described Sanusi as an accomplished industrialist and philanthropist whose investments in education, sports, tourism, youth empowerment and community development had positively impacted many lives and enhanced the image of Ibadan.
He said the new title was not only a recognition of Sanusi’s contributions but also a call to greater service in preserving the cultural heritage of Ibadanland while promoting peace, unity and sustainable development.
“Your elevation to the exalted position of Gbonka Olubadan is richly deserved. It is a testament to your exemplary character, selfless service and enduring commitment to the welfare of humanity.
“I have no doubt that you will continue to justify the confidence reposed in you and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of the Olubadan traditional institution and the overall development of Ibadanland,” Alli said.
The APC governorship candidate prayed that Almighty God would grant Sanusi good health, wisdom and strength to attain greater heights in the Olubadan chieftaincy succession.
Senator Alli also prayed that God grant Chief Sanusi long life while rendering more service to Ibadanland, Oyo State and the nation at large.
