INEC Extends PVCs Collection Deadline In Osun State

Written by on July 29, 2026

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has extended the collection of Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs for an additional 72 hours across Osun State.

This followed reported constraints being faced by potential voters while trying to get their cards.

A statement by Head of Department, Voter Education, Publicity, Gender and Inclusivity, Mr Ariyo Rufus notes that a total of 322,822 Permanent Voter Cards, representing 62 percent of the available PVCs, had been collected during the exercise.

The extension, according to the statement, became necessary following complaints from members of the public, visible large crowds at collection centres and other challenges encountered during the exercise.

INEC said PVC collection at registration areas would now continue until Friday, July 31, 2026, to enable more eligible voters to exercise their civic rights.

The statement adds that the extension would not affect the next phase of the exercise, as PVC collection at local government area offices would still commence from August 1 to August 7, 2026.

The commission through the statement urged all registered voters who are yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards to take advantage of the extension and avoid late hour rush.
