AFCON Qualifiers: Super Eagles Survive Scare, Beat Madagascar 2-1

Super Eagles of Nigeria came from behind to snatch all 3 points against the Barea of Madagascar in their opening match of the African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Eshan Kari put Madagascar in front in the 16th minute to silence the home crowd in the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, Awka Ibom State.

However, debutant George Ilenikhena equalised for Nigeria in the final minute of the first half, before another debutant, Moses Usor came from the bench to give Nigeria the lead in the second half.

The game 2-1 in favour of the Super Eagles and hand Eric Chelle’s men a winning start in the AFCON qualifications campaign.
