82nd Birthday: Religious Leaders Offer Prayers For Olubadan Of Ibadanland

Religious leaders from the Christian and Islamic faiths, alongside traditionalists, have gathered to offer prayers and blessings for the continued good health, wisdom and peaceful reign of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja as he marked his 82nd birthday.
The gathering, which brought together clerics, traditional worshippers, community leaders, family members and well-wishers, was characterised by prayers, goodwill messages and expressions of gratitude for the monarch’s contributions to the development and unity of Ibadanland.
The Celebration was held at the Private Residence of Oba Ladoja, Bodija, Ibadan, Oyo State.
The Islamic clerics led by Alhaji Muritala Adeniyi prayed for God’s continued protection, sound health and wisdom for Oba Ladoja while Christian prayer led by Pastor Olusoji Adedeji was for Olubadan’s divine guidance, strength and many more years of purposeful service.
Traditionalists led by Araba Awo of Ibadanland, Chief Ifalere Odegbola also invoked blessings according to indigenous tradition, praying for the continued peace, prosperity and stability of Oba Ladoja and Ibadanland.
Speaking on the significance of the celebration, Wife of Olubadan, Olori Rashidat Olayinka Ladoja described the occasion as a moment of thanksgiving, stressing that the monarch’s 82 years of life represented decades of service, sacrifice and commitment to the people.
Olori Ladoja expressed appreciation to the religious leaders, traditionalists, family members, friends and well-wishers who joined the royal household in celebrating this year’s Birthday of Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja..
She prayed for her husband to be blessed with more years of good health, wisdom and fulfilment, while expressing confidence that the Monarch would continue to make meaningful impact in the society.
The celebration also provided an opportunity for members of the family to reflect on the monarch’s years of leadership and his contributions to the preservation of culture, peace and unity.
The Olubadan, who was out of town, in a message to the occasion, expressed appreciation to everyone who honoured him, saying the prayers and goodwill messages remained a cherished part of his birthday celebration.
He called for continued peace, unity and mutual understanding among the people, urging them to sustain the values that promote peaceful coexistence and community development.
The 82nd birthday celebration ended with further prayers and goodwill messages, as guests were treated with royalty by going home with various gifts presented to them by Olori Rashidat Olayinka Ladoja.
Climax of the Birthday celebration was the Royal Premiere of Arusa Film produced by Biodun Eleni and the Executive Producer, Miss Fathia Ladoja, at the Emeritus Professor Theophilus Ogunlesi Hall, Opposite UCH, Ibadan.
