Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has reassured Osun people that his administration will not relent in satisfying their developmental needs.
Governor Adeleke who gave the assurance at the commissioning of the completed Stadium Roundabout, Testing Ground Roundabout, Oke Baale Roundabout and Ilesa Garage Roundabout, a section of Oba Adesoji Adeyemi Way, said he will not relent until the infrastructure is fixed and collective prosperity is achieved in Osun state.
While commending former Governor Rauf Aregbesola who started the Osogbo Ring Road project during his administration, Governor Adeleke said his campaign promises to complete abandoned projects inherited from his predecessors are being fulfilled.
He maintained that public projects which are public assets must not be wasted on the altar of political vendetta, therefore, his administration’s plan to complete projects across the sectors including the Osogbo–Ikirun road dualisation with full solar street lights, expanded the inherited reconstruction of Iwo-Osogbo road as well as completion of abandoned projects inside Osun State University which was neglected for almost eleven years.
“Aside from our resolve to complete inherited projects, the road we are about to commission has important significance for the economic well being and safety of our people. Before our assumption of office, we had reports of multiple fatal accidents and traffic gridlock on this road. Many voters actually demanded completion of the road during our electioneering campaign”.
Governor Adeleke advised against reckless driving and breaching of driving safety protocols to prevent increasing accidents on many freshly completed roads due to over-speeding and one way driving.
He, therefore, directed security agencies and road safety authorities to enforce safety codes on the new roads while the Ministry of Works should consider the construction of speed breakers where necessary.
In his remarks, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde noted that the achievements of Governor Adeleke are enormous, urging the people of Osun to reward his achievements with another term of four years.
Governor Makinde maintained that the reward for good work is more work, hence Governor Adeleke deserves another term, assuring that the people of Oyo and Osun would never give the All Progressives Congress a chance to govern again.
