Dr. Babatunde Afolabi Resumes As UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital New CMD

A distinguished medical Professional and seasoned administrator, Dr. Babatunde Afolabi has officially assumed office as the Chief Medical Director, CMD of UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital, Osogbo ,Osun State.
Doctor Afolabi assumed office on 30th October, 2024 following the expiration of the tenure of the immediate past CMD of the hospital, Professor Peter Olaitan.
The New CMD who is an accomplished medical doctor was born on December 22, 1972, hails from Ekosin in Odo – Otin Local Government Area of Osun State and earned his medical degree , MBBS from the University of Ilorin, in 1998.
Doctor Afolabi is a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians and an Associate Fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College.
He serves as both an examiner and trainer for the West African College of Physicians, contributing significantly to the professional development of future medical practitioners.
Dr. Afolabi’s career at UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital, Osogbo (formerly LAUTECH Teaching Hospital), began as a casualty officer in the Accident and Emergency Department (2003-2005).
His dedication earned him high regard among staff and patients alike. He later completed his residency in the same institution, advancing to the role of consultant family physician and ultimately a hospital consultant in the Department of Family Medicine.
