Labour Unions Declare Support For Gov:Adeleke

Osun State workers are to have direct access to soft loans in order to enjoy better welfare.
Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State made this known while addressing rallying workers across Osun State.
The workers under the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC and Trade Union Congress, TUC, took to the street to show solidarity to the governor over the delay in local government allocation withheld by the Federal Government.
Expressing gratitude for their support,the governor gave assurance that workers welfare remained his top priority.
Governor Adeleke said all hands were on deck to ensure that the fund was released as expected.
Chairman,Osun NLC Comrade Christopher Arapasopo, described the demonstration as a clear trust in Governor Adeleke’s leadership style .
He also implored the Federal Government to expedite the release of the fund.
“ workers would not remain silent when issues affecting their welfare and state development were at stake,despite the withheld allocation the Governor is trying his best to pay workers salaries as and when due” He said.
In a reaction , Trade Union Congress, TUC Chairman, Comrade Abimbola Fasasi,lauded the present administration in the state for being prudent and reassured the governor that the labour unions were strongly behind him.
A4oradio.com reports that labour unions who converged on the Government Secretariat in Osogbo, chanted solidarity songs in support of the Governor.
