FRSC Decorates Osun Governor As Special Marshals Patron

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has been decorated as the Patron of Special Marshals in the State.
The investiture ceremony was held at the Government House Banquet Hall, Osogbo, the Osun State Capital.
Governor Ademola at the event stressed his administration’s determination to supporting Road Safety initiatives in the State.
He described the honour as both a recognition and a call to service, stressing that road safety should be seen as a collective efforts.
The Governor maintained that his government would intensify collaborations with the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, and other stakeholders to reduce preventable deaths and injuries on the roads, as many families had lost their loved ones to road accidents.
Governor Adeleke while assuring the Corps of his readiness to promote road safety values, support enforcement, and encourage positive behavioural change among road users, said the new role as Patron had further reinforced his resolve to advance road safety campaigns across Osun State.
Earlier, the Sector Commander, FRSC, Osun State, Corps Commander Leye Adegboyega, noted that Governor Adeleke’s leadership had already brought significant progress in road infrastructure, transport reforms and safety initiatives that align with the FRSC’s mandate.
According to the Sector Commander, road crashes, injuries and fatalities in Osun reduced by more than 28.1%, 29.8% and 52% percent respectively in the first half of 2025 compared to the previous year, attributing it to enforcement, collaboration with other security agencies, and the support of the State Government.
Commander Adegboyega said the Governor’s acceptance of the role represented a strong commitment to saving lives .
