Ekiti Govt Bans Graduation Ceremonies In Schools

Ekiti state government has joined the train of states placing bans on graduation ceremonies for pupils and students in both government and private schools in the state.
Commissioner for education in Ekiti state Dr. Bimpe Aderiye who disclosed this in a circular through the permanent secretary, ministry of education Mr. Mike Omolayo said the policy which will be effective in 2025/2026 academic session was meant to curb excesses associated with such ceremonies among students and pupils in Ekiti state.
The commissioner explained that Ekiti state government under the leadership of governor Abiodun Oyebanji is committed to once in a six years text books assessment for primary schools, and once in four years for secondary school students in the state.
Dr. Bimpe enjoined parents and guardians to note that siblings can pass textbooks to their younger ones as long as they are still relevant and up to date.
