Oyo Police Arrests Driver With Illegal Firearms, Finds Human Flesh In Suspect’s Luggage

The Nigeria Police Force, Oyo State Command, has arrested a driver with several illegal items, including two locally-made single barrel firearms, two brand new short stainless steel machetes, and twenty live cartridges.

The command also disclosed that on Wednesday, other successful operations led to the recovery of a white Toyota Camry (registration number LSD 957 JX) along the Ogbomoso-Iseyin Road, as well as, a disturbing quantity of human flesh found in a suspect’s hand luggage inside a white commercial bus (registration number XA 551 IRG).

According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso in Ibadan, the feats were achieved through the successful implementation of intelligence-driven stop and search operations throughout highways, primary roads, and essential intersections within the state.

“The Oyo State Police Command is excited to share the successful implementation of intelligence-driven stop and search operations throughout highways, primary roads, and essential intersections within the state. These efforts have yielded significant results, greatly increasing community safety and security.

On Thursday, September 18, 2025, at approximately 9:11 PM, a team from the Federal Highway Patrol conducted a stop and search at the Toll Gate on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ibadan. During this operation, a Toyota bus (registration number AFZ 933 XA) was stopped, and upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered several illegal items, including two locally-made single barrel firearms, two brand new short stainless steel machetes, and twenty live cartridges.

The driver was unable to provide a valid driver’s license or the necessary vehicle documentation at the time of the arrest and has been taken into custody along with the bus.

In addition, just one day prior, on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, other successful operations led to the recovery of a white Toyota Camry (registration number LSD 957 JX) along the Ogbomoso-Iseyin Road, as well as a disturbing quantity of human flesh found in a suspect’s hand luggage inside a white commercial bus (registration number XA 551 IRG). These incidents illustrate the effectiveness of our targeted strategies against vehicle theft and various illicit activities.
