Tinted Glass Permit: Police, Lawyer View Court Ruling With Different Lenses

Written by on October 4, 2025

The Nigeria Police Force is yet to receive any court order on enforcement of tinted glass permits.

Force Public Relations Officer,CSP Benjamin Hundeyin has stated.

Reacting to the claim shared on X by a Human Rights lawyer Inibehe Effiong that the court has directed the Police to uphold the current situation regarding the tinted glass permit case, Hundeyin noted that the plaintiff’s three primary injunctions against the policy were denied by the court.

He said the court however directed all parties to maintain the current situation until the next hearing slated for October 16.

“Although we haven’t yet received the court order you’re referring to, let me highlight point number eight from that same order. You omitted this and only focused on point number six. It’s important for Nigerians to have a complete picture rather than just a selective view.

Although we haven’t officially received the court order you’re referring to, I’d like to highlight point number 8 from that same order since you omitted it and only mentioned point number 6. Nigerians deserve a comprehensive view, not just a partial one.”He wrote.

Hundeyin’s remarks came after reports that the Federal High Court in Warri issued a temporary order on Friday, instructing both the Nigeria Police Force and the Inspector-General to uphold current conditions in the ongoing case regarding tinted glass permits.
