Hundreds Gather At Apata Castle For Interfaith Prayers To Mark Dr Peter Ogundeji’s 40th Birthday

Written by on November 21, 2025

‎The atmosphere at “Apata Castle” Ido-Osun, Osogbo, Osun State was filled with solemnity and devotion as windows of heaven were metaphorically “knocked open” during a grand inter-faith prayer session held in honour of philanthropist and All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Chief Peter Ogundeji, popularly known as Apata.

‎Hundreds of family members, friends, political associates, and well-wishers gathered at the historic castle to seek divine blessing, favour, and protection for Chief Ogundeji as part of events marking his 40th birthday celebration.

‎Religious leaders from the traditional, Christian and Islamic faiths took turns to pray for the celebrant.

‎Clerics present included Reverend Soji Adepoje, Pastor Peter Ojomu, Imam Abdul Rasheed Usman, Imam Muideen Olawuyi, Chief Awolowo Awogbile, Chief Ganiyu, and Prophet Oyedele Ase-Oro.

‎The clerics described Chief Ogundeji as a man whose life has been defined by an unwavering commitment to uplifting others.

‎They highlighted his numerous empowerment programmes aimed at tackling unemployment and poverty, noting that he has helped liberate many individuals from economic hardship.

‎They prayed that God would grant Chief Ogundeji the opportunity to attain elective political office, thereby enabling him to further expand his contributions to society.

‎According to them, “his consistent spirit of giving aligns with divine principles, which will continue to open greater doors for him.”

‎They further appealed to all Nigerians to embrace kindness and generosity, stressing that such virtues are essential for building a better and more compassionate society.

‎A major highlight of the celebration was the emotional presentation of a Toyota Highlander by Chief Ogundeji to his twin sister, Mrs Yemisi Awoniran, a prominent businesswoman based in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

‎Overwhelmed with joy, Mrs Awoniran shed tears as she expressed gratitude to God and to her twin brother for the unexpected gift.

‎She prayed for God’s continuous guidance and for the fulfilment of Chief Peter Ogundeji’s political aspirations.
