Joy, music and heartfelt tributes rented the air at De Legend Event Centre, Osogbo, the Osun State capital, as dignitaries from across political, royal and social circles gathered to celebrate the remarkable life of philanthropist and All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Chief Peter Taiwo Ogundeji, fondly known as Apata, at the grand finale of his 40th birthday celebrations.
What began as a simple reception quickly blossomed into a warm celebration of character, compassion and community impact.
The hall radiated with colour and praise as politicians, royal fathers, family members, friends and well-wishers joined the Ogundeji family to honour a man many described as “a blessing to his generation.”
Those who spoke glowingly about the celebrant included Senator Mudashiru Hussein, Brigadier-General Biodun Adewimbi, Alhaji Gbadebo Ajao, Alhaji Lateef Adegoke, the Olola of Ola, Oba Johnson Ajiboye, and the APC Senatorial Chairman, Mr Omolaoye.
In their goodwill messages, the speakers highlighted Chief Ogundeji’s longstanding contributions to humanity through the Apata Cares Foundation, which has provided opportunities for countless youths, helped families rise above poverty, and supported many through employment and empowerment initiatives.
They described him as a humble, reliable and compassionate politician whose generosity has strengthened the bond within the APC and endeared him to both the young and old.
They expressed confidence that society stands to gain immensely should he be given the opportunity to serve in public office, urging him to remain steadfast in his humility, philanthropy and commitment to people-centred development.
Sharing a personal reflection, one of his childhood friends, Mr Bukola Okemakinde, recalled their early years together, noting that their friendship began decades ago when they both assisted their grandmothers in petty trading. Mr Okemakinde described Chief Ogundeji as “faithful, trustworthy and dependable” adding that he has no doubt the celebrant will serve honourably if called upon politically.
Representing the APC elders’ caucus, Mr Omolaoye encouraged party members to remain committed, assuring them that the party remains organised and determined to reward loyalty.
Former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Ambassador Adejare Bello, also paid a glowing tribute, describing Dr Ogundeji as a man of excellent character whose virtues should inspire the younger generation.
Another former Speaker, Dr Najeem Salam, commended the celebrant’s passion for service and development, urging him to tread carefully as he ascends the political ladder. Dr Salam noted that his presence at the event, despite belonging to another political party, was a testament to Chief Ogundeji’s good conduct and integrity.
In his remarks, the celebrant, Chief Peter Ogundeji, expressed profound gratitude to God for His love, mercy and protection over him and his twin sister, Mrs Kehinde Awoniran, throughout the last four decades.

Overwhelmed by the large turnout, Chief Ogundeji said the immense show of love motivates them to continue living exemplary lives and to keep supporting others.
The celebration reached its peak as guests dined, danced and enjoyed electrifying performances from popular entertainer Fujicologist, who kept the atmosphere lively well into the evening.
The 40th birthday reception of Dr Peter Taiwo Ogundeji was not just a party; it was a testament to the impact of a life dedicated to service, generosity and the upliftment of others.
