First Lady Puts Smiles On Faces Of Senior Citizens

Over two hundred senior citizens in Oyo state have benefited from the Renewed Hope Initiative social investment programme for the elderly.
The beneficiaries also received 200,000 Naira each at the elderly support scheme programme after being medically assessed.

A medical practitioner, who is also the Permanent Secretary, Oyo State Ministry of Health, Dr Akintunde Ayeni advised the elders that old age is mostly associated with some challenges such as loneliness, poverty and ill health, hence the need to live healthy by cultivating some habits like eating healthy food especially eating of plenty fruits and vegetables.
In a remark, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Mrs Toyin Balogun, appreciated the elders for contributing to the development of the society and the country.
The Wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu in a message through the Wife of the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Mrs Ajibola Lawal said, RHI targeted 250 vulnerable elders in each of the States of the Federation through the programme, tagged “finding joy in old age”
