Just In: Oyo Government Extends Curfew Imposed On 10 Local Government Areas

The curfew imposed on ten Local Government Areas of Oyo State has been extended for another 24 hours.
The State Government announced the extension through a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade on Thursday.
The Government explained that the extension is to consolidate the security efforts at securing the safe release of the children and teachers in Oriire local government, who have been in captivity for over a month and discouraging the marauders from their dark enterprise of making money through captivity and human blood.
The Government pleaded with residents to continue with their patience and trust in government to conclude the sad incident as soon as possible and decisively.
On Tuesday, Governor Seyi Makinde announced a 16 hour curfew on ten Local Government Areas bordering the Old Oyo National Park
The affected local government areas are:
Oriire (Headquarters: Ikoyi-Ile), Orelope (Headquarters: Igboho), Irepo (Headquarters: Kisi) Saki West (Headquarters: Saki), and Saki East (Headquarters: Ago-Amodu).
Others are Atisbo (Headquarters: Tede / Ago-Are), Itesiwaju (Headquarters: Otu) Iseyin (Headquarters: Iseyin), Olorunsogo (Headquarters: Igbeti) and Atiba (Headquarters: Offa-Meta, Oyo).
