Osun 2026: NPF Bows To Pressure, Replaces Commissioner Of Police

Barely two weeks to the Osun State governorship election, the Inspector General of Police IGP Olatunji Disu has deployed Mr Samuel Erale as the new commissioner of police for Osun State to oversee security during the August 15 Election.
The deployment of Mr. Samuel Erale was contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Osogbo on Friday by the Osun State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr.Abiodun Ojelabi, who disclosed that the new commissioner replaced Mr Ibrahim Gotan the former commissioner
The Osun state image maker explained that Mr Samuel was transferred to Osun State to ensure a hitch free governorship election in the state.
Mr. Ojelabi further disclosed that Mr.Erale’s deployment follows months of calls by the Osun State Government, the Accord and Civil societies for the removal Mr. Ibrahim Gotan over alleged partisanship and his handling of election-related security matters in Osun State.
