Senator Folarin Calls For Probe As APC, Renewed Hope Ambassadors Reject Alleged Violence At Ogbomoso Rally

The Oyo State Team Leader of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and former Senate Leader, Senator Teslim Folarin has called for a full investigation into reports alleging that a commercial motorcyclist was shot during an All Progressives Congress, APC, unity rally held in Ogbomoso Area of the State.
While reacting to the report, Senator Folarin said, neither the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, the All Progressives Congress, APC, nor the Administration of President Bola Tinubu condone any form of lawlessness, violence, or misconduct before, during, or after political activities.
According to him, the APC unity rally in Ogbomoso was peaceful, orderly, and successfully concluded without any officially reported incident of violence at the venue. However, given the gravity of the allegation circulating in the public space, Folarin disclosed that he has formally requested a thorough investigation by relevant security agencies to ascertain what actually transpired.
“if any individual, irrespective of status or political affiliation, is found to have acted unlawfully or engaged in criminal behaviour, such a person must be prosecuted in accordance with the law. Folarin maintained that criminality has no place in the APC, its rallies, or Nigeria’s democratic process” Senator Folarin added.
The former Senate Leader further explained that APC unity rallies were designed to promote peace, unity, and democratic engagement, and not intimidation or violence, adding that the Renewed Hope Agenda is firmly anchored on the rule of law, accountability, and the protection of lives and property.
Senator Folarin also appealed to the public and the media to refrain from speculation or premature conclusions while investigations are ongoing, cautioning against the politicisation or sensationalisation of security-related issues where facts are yet to be fully established.
He reaffirmed that Oyo State must continue to serve as a model of peaceful political participation, assuring residents that he will continue to work closely with security agencies to ensure the safety of all citizens.
