INEC Suspends Voter Revalidation Exercise

The Nigeria electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has called on all its Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) to immediately suspend publicity and arrangements for the voter revalidation exercise.
INEC made this known in a letter dated April 4, 2026 and signed by its Secretary, Rose Oriaran Anthony.
The Commission asked all RECs to continue necessary preparations for the exercise, including sourcing personnel and preparing INEC Voter Enrolment Devices that will enhance the success of the exercise.
INEC maintained that all RECs are to await for further directives from the commission on the proposed exercise.
