Oyo NUJ Set Up Committee For 60th Anniversary

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, has set up a Central Planning Committee to coordinate arrangements for the forthcoming 60th anniversary celebration of the council.
The statement was made available to newsmen in Ibadan to newsmen on Wednesday, was jointly signed by the Chairman, Comrade Akeem Abas and Secretary, Temidayo Adu.
The statement names former Chairman of the council, Ambassador Wale Ojo-Lanre, as Chairman of the Central Planning Committee charged with overseeing all activities connected with the anniversary celebration.
Members of the committee include Mr Sola Oladapo, Mr Kemi Olaitan, Mr Semiu Azeez, Mrs Bukola Owolabi, Mrs Olubunmi Olalere and Mrs Phebean Ojo.
The union expressed confidence in the committee’s ability to deliver a successful anniversary celebration.
It said that the constitution of the committee marked the beginning of preparations for the diamond jubilee celebration of the union in Oyo State.
According to the council, the committee comprises seasoned journalists and media professionals with proven capacity and commitment to the growth of the union and journalism practice in the state.
The council added that the committee would soon unveil programmes designed to celebrate the achievements of the NUJ and honour individuals who have contributed significantly to the media profession in Oyo State.
The committee is expected to also liaise with the State Working Committee for a successful diamond jubilee celebrations.
