2027: Borno Commissioner Threatens To Cut Off Fingers Of Those Who Vote Against APC

Written by on August 31, 2026

Borno State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Sainna Buba, has come under a serious criticism following a controversial statement allegedly threatening physical punishment for individuals who refuse to support the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the coming election.

Buba reportedly made the statement on Monday during the inauguration of a campaign organised by the Tinubu City Boy Movement, a political support group backing President Bola Tinubu and his expected bid for a second term in the 2027 general elections.

The commissioner was quoted as warning that those who vote against the APC could face severe consequences, including having their fingers cut off from their hands.

The alleged threat by the commissioner has raised concerns over the tone of political campaigns and the safety of voters ahead of the 2027 elections.

The remark has also renewed calls for politicians and public officials to promote peaceful and democratic participation rather than intimidation.
