WAFCON 2024: Super Falcons Through To Quarter Finals

Super Falcons of Nigeria have secured their place in the quarter finals of the ongoing Women African Cup of Nations, WAFCON, in Morocco.
The Super Falcons narrowly beat the Mares of Botswana 1 nil yesterday in their second group game to make it back to back wins and ensure they participate in the quarter finals of the tournament.
A late goal by Chinwendu Ihezuo secured the hard fought victory for Nigeria, who are top of Group B with 6 points.
They play Algeria next in their final group game on Sunday.
Also in group B, Algeria and Tunisia played out a goalless draw.
Nigeria are top of the group with 6 points, Algeria second with 4 points, Tunisia third with just 1 point, while Botswana sits at the bottom of the table with no points so far.
Meanwhile, the tournament continues today as Mali take on Ghana while South Africa battles Tanzania, both matches kicking off at 20:00 Hours Nigerian time.
