2027: Southwest PDP Distance Self From Any Coalition

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the Southwest has distanced itself from any coalition ahead of the 2027 General Elections in Nigeria.
This is contained in a communique issued at the end of its caucus meeting held at Olusoji Adagunodo South West PDP Zonal Secretariat, Ibadan.
In the communique read by the Southwest PDP Zonal Publicity Secretary, Chief Sanya Atofarati, the Party resolved that it is not part of the reported Coalition and urged all members of the PDP to remain united and steadfast as the party navigate through all issues at the zonal and national levels.
The Southwest PDP equally threw their weight behind the position of the National Working Committee (NWC) that PDP remains open to working with other well-meaning like-minded citizens in the collective effort to move Nigeria forward.
It also demanded that the Federal Government immediately release the withheld Osun State Local Government Allocation saying the withholding of the Osun state local government allocation by the federal government is unconstitutional, unwarranted and a violation of the rights and wellbeing of the people of Osun State.
Speaking with journalists after the meeting, Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde boasted that the ADC coalition is not a threat to the PDP.
Governor Makinde while quering the antecedent of the people in the ADC coalition said PDP in the south west remained united and together.
He said the leaders of PDP in the south west would not abandon the party and take refuge elsewhere saying they would stay in the party and fix it as responsible leaders who have interest of the people at heart.
Reacting to speculations of some PDP leaders who reportedly claimed they would remain in PDP and work with the coalition, Governor Makinde maintained that PDP as a party have means of dealing with such issues.
