Police Reacts As Bandits Strike In Oyo

Suspected bandits have attacked the National Park Service (NPS) office in Oloka, Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State, leaving Four personnel feared dead, One person in critical condition.
The attack reportedly occurred late Tuesday night.
Preliminary reports indicate that at least five personnel of the National Park Service were affected during the assault.
An eyewitness resident in the Orire local government who pleaded anonymity told Newsmen that five officers were attacked during the incident, adding that four were confirmed dead while one sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment.
Reacting to the incident, the Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, Confirmed that the attack was carried out by yet-to-be-identified armed men against personnel of the National Park Service.
DSP Olayinka disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Police Command, CP Femi Haruna, alongside other security service chiefs, have visited the affected area to assess the situation firsthand.
He further stated that the Commissioner of Police had ordered the immediate deployment of tactical teams, officers of the Mobile Police Force (MPF), and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit of the Nigeria Police Force to the area.
According to him, the deployment is aimed at preventing further breakdown of law and order, restoring calm, and ensuring the safety of lives and property.
The police spokesperson assured members of the public that security agencies are fully on top of the situation and urged residents to remain calm while investigations and security operations continue.
