Oyo @ 50: Hon Oyekola Lauds Founding Fathers, Gov. Makinde

As Oyo State marks 50TH anniversary of its creation from the Old Western Region, the Lawmaker representing Atiba State Constituency who is also the Chief Whip of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Gbenga Joseph Oyekola, has congratulated the Executive led by the Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, Past and Present Leaders, the Legislative under the Rt Hon Speaker, Adebo Ogundoyin, the Judiciary led by the Chief Judge, Justice Iyabo Yerima, all Indigenes and Residents of the State, urging them to continue with unity and peace.
Hon Oyekola, who expressed his excitement in a Statement made available to Journalists in the State, stressed the need for unity, peace, fairness and just among the people for sustainable development of the entire State.
He said at 50, the Pacesetter State has achieved tremendously in terms of development since its creation as envisioned by the past leaders who did their best, expressing gratitude to the incumbent administration of Governor Seyi Makinde for building more developmental projects and consolidating on the solid foundation laid by the previous administrations.
The House of Assembly Chief Whip maintained that Governor Makinde has done exceedingly well, by touching all the areas of development across the State.
While also saying that there is a brighter future for the State, Indigenes, and all residents, Hon Oyekola urged the citizens to key into the policies and programmes of Governor Makinde’s administration for sustainable development.
The ranking Lawmaker applauded the traditional and religious leaders across the State for their fervent prayers for the unity and progress as he urged them not to relent.
On February 3, 1976, General Murtala Muhammed announced the creation of seven new States including Oyo State.
