State Congress: Oyo APC’s Stakeholders Agree On Zoning Arrangement

Ahead of the All Progressives Congress’ nationwide State Congress scheduled for this Tuesday, the stakeholders of the party in Oyo state have agreed to work with a zoning arrangement expected to be made available by an adhoc committee in a few hours.
The party stakeholders met on Sunday at the APC State Secretariat in Oke-Ado, Ibadan and set up an Adhoc Zoning Committee which has been given the task of allotting the available posts in the State Executive Committee to each of the 33 local government area chapters. The Committee is chaired by Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle while Mr. Afeez Bolaji Repete will serve as its Secretary. Other members of the committee are; Idris Adeoye, Adesoji Adedeji, Ajiboye Sangogade and Akeem Olatunji.
In a statement issued today and made available to journalists in Ibadan by its Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, Oyo APC eulogized its party members for their passion as well as commitment to peace and harmony which they have demonstrated in recent times urging them to sustain the tempo even as the 2027 general elections drew nearer.
“In line with the directives of the national leadership of our great Party, stakeholders have agreed to maintain the consensus approach with which the Ward and Local Government Area Congresses were successfully conducted now that it is the turn of the State Congress. The Alh. Fatai Ibikunle-led Adhoc Zoning Committee has already swung into action and in the next few hours, each local government chapter would know the post which their representative would occupy on the State Executive Committee.
“As soon as this information is communicated to them by the state secretariat, relevant stakeholders in each of the 33 local government chapters are expected to meet and send the name of their respective nominees for the mandatory screening by a special team from Abuja. To this end, we urge leaders across the 33 local government areas to ensure that the best candidates are considered for nomination as only the best is good for our great Party.
“We are very confident that the nomination and screening exercises will be completed within the stipulated time since the unveiling and inauguration of the new State Executive Committee will take place this Tuesday at the main bowl of the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium in Ibadan. Therefore, we urge all stakeholders within Oyo APC to work together in the overall interest of our great Party and ensure that this year’s congresses produce the desired results.” Sadare concluded.
