Gov Makinde Visits Ex-Power Minister, Adelabu, Assures Family Of Safe Rescue Of Abducted Victims

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has reiterated his administration’s determination to tackle insecurity and protect residents following the abduction of the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her twin sons.
The Governor made the assurance during a solidarity visit to the Ibadan residence of Adelabu on Friday where he met with members of the family over the unfortunate incident that has generated concern across the state.
Speaking during the visit, Makinde described the kidnapping as a disturbing development, stressing that security agencies had been mobilised and were working tirelessly to ensure the safe rescue of the victims.
He noted that the state government would continue to provide the necessary support to security operatives handling the case.
The governor maintained that the safety of residents remains a top priority of his administration, adding that criminal activities would not be allowed to threaten the peace and security currently being enjoyed in Oyo State.
Makinde also appealed to residents to cooperate with security agencies by volunteering credible information that could aid ongoing investigations. He cautioned against circulating rumours and unverified reports capable of disrupting rescue operations.
Responding, Adelabu thanked the governor for the visit and the concern shown to his family during the challenging period. He also commended security agencies for their efforts so far and expressed hope that the victims would soon regain their freedom.
The visit comes days after the former minister’s sister and her twin sons were reportedly abducted by suspected kidnappers in Ibadan, a development that has continued to attract attention and renewed calls for intensified security measures across the state.
