Osun 2026: Our Members Were Abducted In APC Branded Vehicle – Accord Alleges

Following the reported abduction of two residents of Ilesa East Local Government of Osun State on Thursday, members and supporters of Accord Political Party in the Council Area have staged a peaceful protest to the palace of the Owa-Obokun of Ijesaland, Owa Adesuyi Haastrup, alleging that the duo of Mr. Kasumu Simiyu and Mr. Dagunduro Iyiola were abducted with an All Progressives Congress, APC branded car amidst heavy gunshots around Anaye area of the town.
The protesters who marched through major streets of the ancient town, demanded for the whereabouts of the two victims, while calling on security agencies to ensure their safe return to their families.
While addressing the protesters on behalf of the Owa Obokun of ijesaland, the Ogboni of Ilesa, Chief Saka Fapohunda, the Odole-Owa of Ilesa, Chief Afolabi Makanjuola, and the Olumelu of Imelu, Looja Bode Owofade, called on the residents to calm and refrain from taking laws into their hands.
The Chiefs assured the protesters that Oba Haastrup was making necessary consultations and would continue to engage relevant security agencies to ensure the matter was properly investigated.
Meanwhile, the Osun State Police Command has confirmed that the vehicle used in the act was intercepted with the two men on its way to Osogbo, the State Capital.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Osun State Command, Mr Abiodun Ojelabi, who confirmed the rescue and subsequent release of the men said investigations are currently on-going to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident .
